The Cass

Project Description

Window Graphics for 'Backdoored.io' and "After London" exhibitions at Bank Gallery Space of The Cass School of Art, Architecture & Design.

“Backdoor, noun. [Hacker slang] A feature or defect of a computer system or device that allows surreptitious unauthorised access to data.

Artist and Cass MA Fine Art alumna Nye Thompson uses search engines to unearth images captured by unsecured surveillance cameras. Deploying algorithms to robotically archive these images, Thompson exposes our vulnerability in cyberspace.”

“The East End Archive at The Cass presents 'After London', an exhibition running from 4-15 October of photography that focuses on the Thames Estuary for London Photomonth.

The exhibition coincides with the publication of Estuary: Out from London to the Sea (Hamish Hamilton September 2016) by Rachel Lichtenstein, which includes commissioned photographs by Essex-based artist Simon Fowler and is on public display for the first time.”
